Updated (Sept. 7) ESREL 2015 Program is here!
September 7, 2015 ESREL 2015 Technical Program changes are here.
Professor Paul Embrechts’ and Didier Sornette’s talks are here.
The annual European Safety and Reliability Conference ESREL stems from a European initiative merging several national Conferences into a major yearly conference under the auspices of the European Safety and Reliability Association (ESRA).
The 25th edition of the conference, ESREL 2015, will provide a forum for presentation and discussion of scientific works covering theories and methods in the field of risk, safety and reliability, and their application to a wide range of industrial, civil and social sectors and problem areas. ESREL 2015 will also be an opportunity for researchers and practitioners, academics and engineers to meet, exchange ideas and gain insights from each other.
Our ambition for ESREL 2015 is to advance in the understanding, modeling, and managing of the complexity of the risk, safety and reliability fields characterizing our world, now and in the future. We aim at setting up a multidisciplinary platform to address the technological, societal, financial aspects of these fields. With the support of the ETH Risk Center, we engage in broadening the scope of risk, safety and reliability from the technical to natural, financial and social aspects, focusing on inter-dependencies of functions and cascade of failures in complex systems.
ESREL 2015 was held at ETH, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, in Zürich.
Papers presented at ESREL 2015 can be found in the conference proceedings published by CRC Press: Safety and Reliability of Complex Engineered Systems: ESREL 2015
